  When you implement a legal hold, do you issue the hold to entire departments, or interview custodians and have a narrow group of custodians for preservation?

  • I send the legal hold to entire departments to cover everyone possible and don't narrow it down
  • I make some calls with the business, but generally issue a broad legal hold and cull down custodians later as the litigation heats up
  • I contact individual custodians at the outset of a case and have narrow preservation for those custodians who have information
